Borger Management believes sustainability must be a local initiative. We look for ways to make a positive impact on our environment in each of our over 9,000 multi-family housing units and from all of our commercial tenants.

We work with our owners to develop green initiatives that are realistic and appropriate for their properties. In some cases, we are able to use renovation projects to bring a property into LEED certification. BMI properties have been upgraded to promote water and energy conservation, and our cleaning company is implementing Green Cleaning methods. We encourage our tenants to join in these efforts and provide opportunities for them to participate in green initiatives, such as recycling, composting and energy-saving transportation concepts such as bike sharing, carpooling and use of the Metro system. Methods and practices for advancing our sustainability are reviewed yearly and incorporated into our 2, 5 and 10-year plans.
